First and Second Law Evaluation of Multipass Flat-Plate Solar Air Collector and Optimization Using Preference Selection Index Method

In this paper, different flow configurations of multipass flat-plate air collectors are explored. Multiple passes formed from glass cover, absorber plate, and back plate. Five types were analysed optimized with respect to maximum efficiencies minimum cost. The analytical prediction the heat exchanger, pressure loss, was presented. effects mass rate 0.01 0.02 kg/s, channel depth 15 30 mm, collector length 1.5 2.5 m on examined compared. results parametric study show that triple-pass type has greatest efficiency, whereas smallest efficiency is single-pass type. Among double-pass types, two covers natural convection transfer achieved highest effective exergy due a reduction in top loss. Double-pass single cover not recommended both energy standpoints. As increases, decreases, but increases. performance can reach up 5% at 0.005 kg/s. Finally, multiobjective optimization using preference selection index method conducted three targets including number plates. Optimal lowest longest best. for best case found be about 52.1% 4.7%, respectively. However, shortest worst.
